Our Ethos

Kinship Linen has a simple philosophy when it comes to the environment; Buy less, choose well and make it last! That’s why we proudly use 100% pure linen for all our products.

Made from flax fibres, linen has long been a luxurious fabric. Whilst typically more expensive than cotton, linen is valued for its beauty, strength and breathability. The flax plant does not require much energy or water resources to produce and the entire plant is used to make linen, leaving almost no waste footprint. Linen is naturally biodegradable and recyclable.

The Karur area in South India is the traditional home of handloom textiles in India and this is where homebody products are lovingly crafted. Our prints are designed by us in New Zealand and digitally printed onto natural linen. This is a specialised process undertaken by highly skilled artisans. Digital printing results in less waste than alternative printing methods as the set-up process is far more efficient.

Our cushions and pillows are not individually wrapped in plastic for their boat journey to New Zealand. With sustainability in mind, our packaging is made from linen off-cuts, minimizing waste and creating beautiful linen bags to use time and time again.

Everything we design and manufacture has been made to the highest possible standard so you can enjoy your homebody purchase for years to come.
